Time flies when you're having fun!!

Hey

Well doesn't time fly? I'm such a bad blogger. I can't believe the last time I posted was March and Harry was just 15 weeks old!

So much has happened since then. Harry will be 10 months old in 9 days!! He's grown so much and developed into such a little character. I've gone back to work and Harry started nursery. He had his Baptism, which was a really lovely day.

Harry has not only learnt to sit unaided, but he rolls, crawls and cruises the furniture. He's also started to let go of the furniture for a few seconds at a time. He really is a super little dude! Everybody loves him and he's generally so happy. He's just started properly teething and has been having a really hard time of it over the last few days.

He's been going to his Water Babies swimming lessons every week and really enjoying them. He loves the water and bath time so that's great. Unfortunately we've just had to cancel his lessons as the venue has changed and it was so cold at the new place, he came out shivering even though he was wearing a wet suit!

So I think I'll leave it there for now, there's so much to catch up on, I'm sure it'll make a few posts and hopefully I'll get back in the habit of posting more often.

Bye for now

Harry's Baptism

Hey

So Harry is now 15 weeks old so we thought we really should organise his Baptism. It's been a plan of mine and Davids for a while to start going to church on a Sunday so we've found a church nearby that we liked the look of. We went along last week to the service and booked a date for Harrys Baptism. It's going to take place on the 20th July, so after the church was booked we just needed to organise the reception afterwards.

We talked about this a while ago and thought that Fleetwood Football club would be an ideal place, as it's a little bit different and it looks really nice in the Parkside suite. We went along to view it on Wednesday and our date was free so it has all been booked. We even got a discount as David has a season ticket which is even better.

I found a really cute little suit for him to wear so will buy that closer to the time so I know the size will be correct, so now it's just the food to organise. I think we'll be doing that ourselves as it won't be a massive event so we should be able to manage between us to make enough for the people coming.

Quite excited now, his baptism and then a couple of weeks later is Stacey's weddings. Going to be an exciting few weeks!!

Organising a Hen Party...

Hey

Well I've not been around much lately, mainly due to looking after Harry and his ever increasing social life! He has more in my diary than I do.

He's also developed a but of a cough and sniffle and is also teething so he's being quite clingy with me. He doesn't really want to be put down at the moment, so I'm balancing a laptop at one side and him on the other at the moment. As soon as he nods off and I manage to put him down without him waking it's time for washing and cleaning.

As well as him I'm trying to sort a hen party for my friends wedding. She's decided on York races and then a meal and night out in York afterwards. She's booked the race tickets and hotel so I've got to sort the meal and the goody bags. Trying to get people organised and a 'yes or no' answer from them is ridiculous. People who really should be there have decided not to go. One of the bridesmaids is only coming to the night out!!

The goody bags will be given to the people who actually confirm they're going to be there in a reasonable amount of time as I need to sort things to go in them. I'm thinking as we were going to do a bit of a pamper day but then changed it to the races we should have a mixture of goodies in there. I've ordered the bags and some willy soaps, face wash sample and perfume samples so far. I've also got a willy mould so that I can make some chocolates closer to the day. I'm also going to put in the typical hen party badge/sash etc. Thinking of maybe a shot glass with names/hen party details on etc, if I can get the glasses cheap enough and I can decorate them with a glass pen myself.

Any other ideas of cheap things to go in the bag??

Water Babies part 2...

Hey

SO it's been a couple of weeks since posting, sorry!! Hubby has been poorly and Harry is awake a lot more now during the day so needs entertaining.

Just thought I'd do a quick post on how Harry's second water babies lesson went (seen as we're heading out this afternoon to his third lesson!).  He did much better last week and didn't cry once. He was actually very happy and smiley the whole way through the lesson. We did the same routine in the lesson as the first week and all the babies were a bit more confident with what we were doing.

The lessons seem to have helped Harry's attitude at bath times too, he didn't really like the bath but his last few baths have been very calm and relaxed and involved him swimming on his back up and down the bath (my hands under his head obviously).

Harry has beena bit cranky over the past few days and I think he's most deffinately started teething. We also booked his baptism at the Church yesterday so now just have to figure out which people wewould like to be godparents are baptised and make the choice as to who we would like.

First Water Babies swim lesson...

Hey

So yesterday was Harrys first Water Babies swim lesson.  We got there and parked up and headed in to the reception and were met by a Water Babies staff member who signed us in and showed us the changing area and poolside. It's in a pyhsio place so the pool is only small and about chest high.

You basically get changed at the poolside as there'sonly 3 small changing cubicles. I had my costume on already so just a case of getting harry ready and away we went.

There was only 6 in the class so it was a nice small group and the pool was nice and warm. Harry is the youngest in the group. He seemed to enjoy it until about half way through and then I think he got a little bit tired and started crying. I'm hoping this gets better with time and he'll get better in the water and also not get as tired and cranky.

All in all it went well, looking forward to going back to the next lesson (in 2 weeks because of the school holidays). From what I've seen so far I think we made a good choice getting him booked into these lessons.

The Perfect Storm...

Hey

What on earth happened to the weather??

Iwent to visit my mum yesterday with Harry as she's off work ill, so we went to cheer her up and look after her for a little bit. Last night we look out of the window to see it was snowing!! I was a little worried that it would stick and I'd be stuck in Bradford, normally wouldn't be a problem but Harry had his first Water Babies swimming lesson today so I didn't want to miss it!

Anyway when we got up this morning it had pretty much all gone so I set off back. It was pretty bad rain coming home but then seemed to brighten up this afternoon..... the calm before the storm. David rang me at around 5pm to ask me to pick him up from work as he'd gone on the bike but the wind was really picking up. It's a pretty good job I did as the wind has now got really bad! The car was been blown around on the way home, the prom has been shut and now quite a lot of roads around Blackpool have also been shut due to flying debris, fallen trees and parts of roofs.

So we made it home, rescued our grey bin from halfway up the road, after we managed to get out of the car and keep the doors intact. We parked at the other side of the road (no houses on that side) as our car has a glass roof and we didn't want to risk any tiles coming off the house roof and smashing the car roof. Low and behold this seems to have been a very clever idea of ours. So far about 5 or 6 tiles have come off, and a few broken pieces are in the very spot our car would have been. David went out and rescued 3 complete intact tiles but the rest are shattered. We rang a roof man and left a message with him now, so hopefully we'll be in a good spot in the queue when the storm calms and people go and assess the damage to their houses. Ringing now should get us to the top of the list quicker than the ones ringing in the morning (or when the storm calms).

Here's to hoping the storm calms and doesn't cause too much damage to ours and everybody else houses! Here's also praying it doesn't cost a bomb....

EBay listings and housework...

Hey

So today I've been listing lots of items on eBay from my sort out earlier in the week. My sort out hasn't finished yet, but I had quite a big pile of things to list so thought I'd make a start so that everything didn't end at once. I've made that mistake before thinking not everything would sell and ended up taking about 30 items to the post office, the women serving didn't seem very impressed with my bags full of stuff. She did grumble a little, so I think I'll find another post office to use in future. After all that is what the post office is there for and they don't give a limit!!

I think in future I may just take a trip to Lytham as the post office there is lovely, we used to take work post there and they never batted an eyelid even when we took a few sacks of things down. They were always really friendly too!!

Whilst doing my eBay listings I've been pottering down doing the housework. Washing soon mounts up when you have a baby. I don't think it ever really crossed my mind how many clothes changes we would need. Luckily the clothes are small so a lot fits in each wash load. However, our clothes aren't so small and also mount up when Harry decides to spit up or make a mess.

The housework has come second to  Harry, as it obviously should, since he arrived so now things have settled and he is a bit happier on his playmat/bouncer rather than being cuddled up with mummy all the time I'm able to get back on top of things. Oh joy, I get a bit of free time and it's taken up by catching up with house work...
